Mango

If one ever asked me, "What does India taste like?" I know now to tell them, "Eat a mango. Maybe, throw some pepper on top for a taste of India's burst of flavors." The lengend of the mango is to be believed that the mango tree grew from the ashes of the sun princess who had been incinerated by an evil sorceress. The emperor fell in love with the mango flower and subsequently, its fruit. When it ripened and fell to the ground, the beautiful sun princess emerged. Thus, the fruit has become a symbol of love in India and a basket of mangoes is considered a gesture of friendship.
Funny how fruit and prayer bonds people in India and what bonds people in the states is a computer screen.

***On the right side are more blogs from June and a new log for July*** Enjoy<2

  1. Never knew any of that about mangos. Too bad I'm not really a fan of eating them lol.... unless I'm at Olive Garden ;-) hehehe

So true about your last sentence. I miss the old days when you called everyone because no one had texing and there was dial up so not many people used the internet.... esp since your parents always needed to use the phone or was expecting a phone call.....

  2. Aweeee...first of all mangoes are soo gooood lol...My grandma has 2 trees at home in DR...and I climbed it to pick some while i was in DR.

In regards to our beautiful states and our severe lack of face-to face interactions and social skills, I agree. People have grown accustomed to typing and using CAPITAL letters to emphasize on a point. However, so much is lost...emotions can't be transferred, and even the " :( " sad face can't really transmit how sad we are. There should be a revolution against this in this country, because it is truly making the new generation ignorant to effective communication. && It prevents people from taking time to go out, and meet someone. There are so many ways to meet people in NYC alone. The problem is- for someone that is so used to the computer, they would not know how to act or what to say if a stranger was to say hello. If it was via internet, they feel they have more control because they can take their time to respond, and really structure their responses. BUT that's NOT real life. Life is spontaneous and full of opportunities for us to say the wrong thing at the wrong time, or the wrong thing at the right time! We are not perfect creatures. The fun in the course of our lives is learning from these silly experiences that we encounter when we leave our shell and go explore the world!

  3. I just want to say I love the legend behind the Mango. Mangoes are delicious and one of my favorite fruits so now I can eat them with a little extra joy after reading your blog lol.
It's sad the way we connect nowadays I wish people were as passionate and content with face to face or voice to voice communication as we are about getting the next or newest electronic to communicate with:(
I hope one day we learn what's important in this life and get a little back to the basics... and start speaking to each other with our mouths lol
